Deepak and Phulmati wins Right to Protein run Half Marathon

Kathmandu – Deepak Adhikari of Tribhuvan Army Club and Phulmati Rana of the Armed Police Force won the Right to Protein run Half Marathon on Saturday.

Deepak clocked 1 hour 5 minutes and 8 seconds to clinch the title of half marathon organized by the Nepal Veterinary Association. Rajan Rokaya stood second finishing the distance 6 seconds later. Narendra Singh Rawat completed the distance timing 1 hour 5 minutes and 55 seconds to finish third. Moreover, Tirtha Pun and Sushil Kumar Shahi finished fourth and fifth respectively.

The Half Marathon – Female winner Phulmati Rana took 1 hour 22 minutes and 12 seconds to accomplish 21 KMs. Ram Maya Budha of Nepal Police Club remained second finishing the distance 5 seconds after Phulmati. Likewise, Purna Laxmi Neupane clocked 1 hour 23 minutes and 10 seconds to finish third. Kalpana Khadka and Anju Khadka remained fourth and fifth respectively.

Both the Half Marathon winners were rewarded with NRs. 1 Lakh each while the runners-up pursed NRs. 75000 each.

Clocking 30 minutes and 56 seconds Mukesh Pal came first in the 10 KM Male run. Gajendra Rai finished behind Mukesh taking 31 minutes. While Subash Karki finished third, Bikash Rai and Mohan Adhikari completed the distance fourth and fifth. All of them are Tribhuvan Army Club’s athletes.

In the 5 KM Female (Open) category, Gita BK finished first clocking 21 minutes 31 seconds. Nirmala KC, Sima Chaudhary, Birshana Kumal, and Aasha Rawat completed in sequence.

Furthermore, Sanjeeb Nepali was named victorious in the 5 KM school (Boys) category and Kalpana Budha won in the 3 KM school (Girls). Prem Bahadur BK won in Wheel Chair Run (Men), and Rajani Rai won in Wheel Chair Run (Female).

The athletes who finished top 5 in all of the categories were awarded by the Honorable Prime Minister of Nepal Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
