Hong Kong defeated Nepal in the third-place play-off of the ongoing ACC Premier Cup in Oman to confirm their place in the tournament alongside finalists Oman and UAE. Hong Kong defeated Nepal by four wickets in Al Amerat to finish third as well as avenge their defeat earlier in the group stages. Hong Kong got over the line, chasing 140 with three balls to spare. Nepal defeated Qatar by 32 runs in their second outing to go two wins out of two in Oman. Nepal, batting first after winning the toss, were taken to a mammoth total of 210 runs, losing seven wickets in 20 overs. Dipendra Singh Airee smashed a 21-ball 64 with three fours and seven sixes. The Caribbean side is set to visit Nepal for the series that will kick off after the ACC Men's Premier Cup in Oman. The series will be held from April 25 to May 5. The team is expected to travel to the USA to prepare for the World Cup after this series. But before that, Nepal will compete in the Men's Premier Cup from April 12 to 21. The team is currently in India having won the recently concluded SMS Friendship Cup. The T20 World Cup is being held in the West Indies and the USA in June. Nepal registered a 71-run win in the second match to win the series 2-0. The Irish side, chasing a mammoth target of 199 runs in 20 overs, could only conjure up 127 runs in 18.3 overs, losing all of their wickets. The Irish side were handed a six-wicket loss by Nepal in the first of two T20 matches to be played before the travelling contingent turns their focus towards the Nepal ‘A’ side.
