CAN bids farewell to women’s cricket team

Kathmandu – Cricket Association of Nepal bade farewell to the national women’s cricket team of Nepal to participate in the ACC Women’s T-20 Championship to be held in Malaysia. The event will kick off on Friday.

National Sports Council Member Secretary Tanka Lal Ghising as well as office bearers of CAN bade them farewell amid a programme on Tuesday

The 14-member team under the captaincy of Rubina Chhetri Belbase will head towards Malaysia on Wednesday. The event will be held from June 17 to 25.

Nepal is drawn in Group B along with Hong Kong, Kuwait, Bhutan and Bahrain. Group A includes the UAE, Malaysia, Oman, Qatar and Singapore. The two teams that make it to the final will get an opportunity to compete in the Asia Cup.

Nepali Women’s Cricket Team:

Rubina Chhetri Belbase (Captain), Indu Berma (Vice Captain), Sita Rana Magar, Jyoti Pandey, Kabita Kunwar, Ashmina Karmacharya, Kabita Joshi, Mamta Chaudhary, Dolly Bhatt, Bindu Rawal, Sangita Rai, Apsari Begum, Kajol Shrestha (wicketkeeper) and Sabnam Rai.
