The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced the National Cricket team including young wicketkeeper Arjun Saud and former captain Gyanendra Malla for bilateral series against Kenya.
Arjun, who plays domestic cricket from the Far West holds the experience of playing in the Nepal U19 National team is called up for the first time in the senior National team. Similarly, experienced batter and former captain Gyanendra Malla has returned to the team. Gyanendra last featured the Nepali team in March in UAE Tour.
While Gyanendra Malla, Shahab Alam, and Bibek Yadav marked their comeback to the national team, wicketkeeper Binod Bhandari and opener batsman Kushal Bhurtel have been left out from the team.
Nepal will start its campaign for the Kenya tour facing the hosts on August 25 in T20i. Nepal is scheduled to fly towards Kenya on August 23. Nepal will play the second T20i match on August 26. After a one-day break the third, fourth, and fifth T20i matches will be played on August 28, 29, and 30 respectively. The first one-day practice match will be held on September 2. CAN announced the team for the Kenya tour on Tuesday evening.
Sandeep Lamichhane will lead the team in the T-20i series. In the rest one-day series, Vice-Captain Rohit Paudel will lead the team. Lamichhane is heading towards West Indies to play Caribbean Premier League (CPL) starting from 31st August. Lamichhane will feature Jamaica Talawaz in CPL.
