Barsha nets four in Nepal’s huge margin victory over Bhutan

Barsha Oli netted four, Sukriya Miya scored a brace and Senu Pariyar scored a piece as Nepal recorded a comfortable victory of 7-0 over Bhutan in an ongoing SAFF U-15 Women’s Championship at Bir Shrestha Shaheed Shipahi Mustofa Kamal Stadium in Bangladesh.

Nepal perfectly utilized Bhutan’s poor defensive zone and scored most of the goals in one-vs-one situations. Barsha Oli broke the deadlock in the 27th second capitalizing on skipper Dipa Rokaya’s through ball.

Barsha scored her brace in the 17th minute. Unmarked Barsha received a quick freekick taken by Simran Rai from the center line and made a calm finish. Barsha beats the offside track and scored to complete her hat trick in the 33rd minute.

Nepal took a 4-0 lead through Barsha in the 34th minute. She tapped into an empty net following Sukriya Miya’s pass. Nepal went into an interval with 4 goal lead and added 3 after.

Sukriya scored her first and Nepal’s fifth in the 65th minute of the match following Amita Bhul’s lob pass. Sukirya scored her brace in the 72nd. Rebika Nepali’s shot from outside the box was blocked by Bhutanise goalie Diktsha Rai which was then tapped in by Sukriya in the rebound.

Senu Pariyar, who replaced Barsa in the 83rd minute scored a goal two minutes later after stepping onto the field. She beat the goalkeeper and placed the ball in the 85th.

Nepal, Bhutan, and Bangladesh are participating in the SAFF U-15 Women’s Championship. Bhutan lost 8-0 to host Bangladesh in its first outing of the championship.

Nepal will play Bangladesh on November 5 and face Bhutan for the second time on November 9. Nepal will play its final match against Bangladesh on November 11.

The team bagging the highest points will be crowned champions in a double round-robin-based championship participated by 3 nations.
