Kathmandu – Tribhuvan Army Football Club emerged victorious over Jawalakhel Youth Club, winning 3-1 in a thrilling encounter at ANFA Complex on Tuesday in the ongoing Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Division League 2023.
Gillespye Jung Karki scored the opening goal for Army in the 17th minute, giving his team an early lead. Army went into the break with a one-goal advantage, and came back strongly in the second half, scoring two more goals.
Nawayug Shrestha doubled Army’s lead from the spot in the 55th minute. However, Jawalakhel managed to score a goal in the 62nd minute through Sunil Khadka. But Army was quick to respond, with Sudil Rai scoring in the 80th minute to confirm their victory.
With this win, Army moved up to fifth place in the points table, having garnered 12 points from eight matches. Meanwhile, Jawalakhel maintained their second spot.
