ANFA names Yam Gurung as head coach of U20 National Women’s team

Kathmandu – The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) on Friday named Yam Gurung as the head coach of the Nepal National U20 Women’s Football Team.

Gurung, who previously led various age group national teams to success will lead the U20 Women’s team to SAFF U20 Women’s Championship to be held in Dhaka from February 3 to 9.

Gurung will be assisted by Sandesh Shrestha whereas Sri Prakash Baidhya will look after the custodian department. Moreover, ANFA has given the responsibility of team manager to Indu Duwal.

The SAFF U20 Women’s Championship will kick off on February 3 with a matchup between India and Bhutan at BSSSMK Stadium. Similarly, Nepal will start its campaign on the same day taking on hosts Bangladesh at 6:45 PM NST.

Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and India are the participating nations. The championship is based on a single round robin, where the top two teams will vie for the title on 9th February 2023.
