Kathmandu – Table tennis player Alina Maharjan won the People’s Choice Award under the Pulsar Sports Award held on Tuesday.
She finished ahead of cricketer Kushal Bhurtel, shuttler Prince Dahal and footballer Anjila Subba to win the award.
Alina Maharjan received 47.833 percent of the total votes cast in the run-up to the awards ceremony. She has reached the second position in table tennis ranking in Nepal and has won bronze medals twice in the South Asian Games including the 12th and 13th editions in women’s team event.
Besides being an active player, she is also a table tennis coach. Maharjan is also active in social works. She donated half of the prize money she received from SAG for the families affected by Covid-19.
