Speaking on the injury, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said he could miss the opening two games. “He had a scan two days ago and he’s out for a while – we don’t know if it is two weeks or one more week, but he will not be available. We think he will not play at Stoke.” Alexis Sanchez has less than a year left on his contract with Arsenal.
Arsene Wenger, when asked the possibilities of a new contract for Sanchez, said- “All is possible you know. When a player goes into the final year of their contract we will try to extend the contract because there is no reason we shouldn’t do it, but we are not there yet.” On whether he has spoken to PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Wenger said- “No, we have not. It’s a long time since I spoke to Nasser, because it’s certainly very busy to complete the transfer of Neymar and it’s a long time that I didn’t speak to him.”
Along with Alexis Sanchez, several other players are also currently injured for Arsenal. “I have plenty of uncertainties about the players who didn’t play against Chelsea said the boss. For example, Ramsey, Ozil, Mertesacker, and of course Koscielny is suspended,” Arsene Wenger added.
