Kathmandu – Nepal lost their first ODI match against Zimbabwe A by 3 wickets on Friday. With the victory, the visitors took a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series being held in Kathmandu valley.

Zimbabwe successfully chased a modest target of 137 runs for victory at the TU Cricket Ground in 26 overs losing 7 wickets. Innocent Kaia was unbeaten scoring 48 runs-a-ball including 4 boundaries and a six.
Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane and Karan KC took two wickets each while Sompal Kami and Sagar Dhakal bagged a wicket.
Earlier, Nepal were invited to bat first at the TU Cricket Ground after losing the toss, and were all out for 136 runs in 31.3 overs. Nepal’s all-rounder Sompal Kami scored the highest 30 runs off 70 balls.

Brad Evans took 4 wickets for Zimbabwe while Victor Nyauchi, Cephas Zhuwao and Brendon Mvuta two wickets each.
The second ODI match between Nepal and Zimbabwe A is scheduled for Saturday.
Prior to this, the two teams had played a 1-1 draw in a three match T20 series.
