Samba scores 5 in 11 goals thriller

Nepali National Football Team star forward Sabitra Bhandari aka Samba scores 5 as Gokulam Kerela FC secures an empathic victory of 11-0 over Kerala United FC in the Kerala Women’s League.

Samba was involved in the 7 goals out of 11 that Gokulam scored in EMS Corporation Stadium. She scored 5 and assisted twice. She opened the account for Gokulam in the 3rd minute of the match. She scored her second goal in the 6th minute and completed her hattrick in the 27th minute of the match.

Gokulam scored 6 past Kerala before going into the break and came back to add 5 more. Samba scored the first, third, fourth, fifth, and eighth goals. Likewise, Sandhiya scored a brace whereas captain Kashmina, Reshma, Vivian, and Harmilan scored apiece to give Gokulam an easy victory in the opening match of the league. 5 goal scorer Samba was named the player of the match.

Gokulam is the defending champion of both the Indian Women’s League (IWL) and the Kerala Women’s League. Gokulam will compete in the AFC Club Championship scheduled to take place next month for which Samba flew to India last week. Samba helped Gokulam to clinch the title of IWL a couple of years ago. She scored 16 goals for the team back then.
