Chelsea secured a draw vs Real Madrid in the semi-final of the Champions League on Tuesday. Chelsea now have the advantage of an away goal and will look to win the match in the next leg at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea took the lead via Pulisic in the 14th minute. A delicious ball from Rudiger’s header and Pulisic made a run behind Madrid’s defense to put it past Courtois. Ben Chilwell’s shot went wide in the 24th minute as Chelsea looked to increase their lead. In the 29th minute Real Madrid equalize via Karim Benzema.
Benzema was on target once again as he volleyed the ball home to level the match. Chelsea had few more chances in the second half to take the lead but couldn’t break Madrid’d defense. Raphael Varane missed a good opportunity for Madrid as his header went wide the post.
In the second leg, Real Madrid will be looking to cancel the away goal first and then snatch the tie from Chelsea. Meanwhile, Chelsea will look to play Champions League final since they won it back 9 years ago.
