Preparations for Nepal-Bangladesh friendly in the final stage

Kathmandu – The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) announced that the preparations for the friendly match between Nepal and Bangladesh to be played on FIFA Day have reached the final stage.

Nepal is set to take on Bangladesh on September 27 at Dashrath Rangasala in Kathmandu. ANFA has appointed American Citizen Pradip Humagain as the interim Head Coach of the National Football team for the friendly.

Amidst a Press Conference on Thursday, ANFA spokesperson Suresh Shah informed that the Bangladesh squad will arrive in Nepal four days prior to the friendly on September 23. Shah added that the friendly match is going to be organized to keep the players occupied.

ANFA has estimated to spend almost 49 lakhs for the friendly match. The fans are required to pay NRs. 500 and NRs. 1000 to experience the match live in the stadium.

Moreover, ANFA has appointed Vice President Birat Jung Shahi as the coordinator for the friendly.

Nepal has faced Bangladesh 23 times where Nepal had won 7 and lost 13. Both shared a spoil in 3 matches. Nepal last faced Bangladesh in the finals of the Three Nations Cup on March 29, 2021, in Kathmandu where Nepal won by 2-1. Sanjok Rai and Bishal Rai scored apiece in Nepal’s victory.
