Kathmandu – Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) organized a formal event on Monday to welcome the newly appointed Member Secretary of the National Sports Council (NSC) Tanka Lal Ghising.
During the programme held at NOC building in Satdobato, NOC President Jeevan Ram Shrestha, who is also a Member of Parliament, stressed on the need for the two apex sports bodies to work together for the welfare of the entire sports fraternity.
Member Secretary Ghising informed that the NSC has already decided to begin the process of announcing national team. Other office bearers of NOC were also present during the programme.
After the welcome speech, NOC officials and NSC Member Secretary Ghising discussed about Nepal’s participation in the 19th Asian Games. NOC General Secretary Nilendra Raj Shrestha and Vice President and Executive Director Chaturananda Raj Vaidhya were also present during the discussion.
Discussions were held regarding the sports in which Nepal would participate in the Asian Games and the number of players. They also discussed about other international events that Nepal is likely to participate in.
