Nepal will face Oman in ICC World Cup League-2 opener in USA

Kathmandu – Nepal will play their first match of the triangular ODI series under the ICC World Cup League-2 against Oman. The series will be held in the USA starting from the second week of June.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled the match schedule between Nepal, Oman and the USA.

 Nepal will play their first match against Oman on June 9. Oman will complete 36 matches in the World Cup League-2 following the match. Nepal, on the other hand, have played 12 matches of the league so far. Oman lead the table with 19 wins and 11 losses from 32 matches.

The USA are fifth with 7 wins and 9 losses from 16 matches. Nepal are sixth with 6 wins and 6 losses from  12 matches. As there are chances that all the matches of World Cup League-2 will not conclude on time, the top three teams will be declared on the basis of percentage points. The top three teams of the seven-team competition will directly qualify for  the  upcoming ODI World Cup qualifiers. The last four teams will have to go through play-offs.

This will be the fourth World Cup League-2 series of Nepal.

Nepal is making preparation to visit Scotland straight from the USA. Nepal will face the hosts Scotland and Namibia under the league.
