Nepal to host maiden International Rugby Competition

Kathmandu – The Nepal Rugby Association and Asia Rugby are set to jointly host Asia Rugby U18 Boys and Girls Championship at Dasarath Stadium.

8 Asian countries will show their participation in the tournament to be held on the 10th and 11th of December, confirms secretary and spokesperson of Nepal Rugby Association Gobinda Ghimire.

Hosts Nepal, along with India, Chinese Taipei, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Bangladesh, and UAE will vie for the title of Aisa Rugby U18 Championship.

5 teams from the Women’s side and 8 from the Men will participate in the maiden International Rugby Competition to be held in Nepal. The Nepalese side has begun its close camp at Gauritar, Hetauda.

The main organizing committee for the championship has been formed under the coordination of Deepak Devkota, acting president of the Nepal Rugby Association.

Similarly, the association said that the ceremony sub-committee, administrative sub-committee, playground management sub-committee, accommodation management sub-committee, transportation management sub-committee, sports equipment, and uniform management sub-committee, volunteer sub-committee, security sub-committee have also been formed.
