Nepal National Cricket team registers the first under newly appointed Head Coach Manoj Prabhakar. Nepal defeated home side Kenya by 5 wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the series of five T20I matches.
Nepal accomplished the winning target of 131 runs in 19.2 overs losing 5 wickets. Former captain Gyanendra Malla who marked his comeback into the national team scored 23 runs off 30 balls including 3 fours.
Opener Pawan Sharaf was forced to leave the crease with a single run. Aasif Sheikh and Vice Captain Rohit Paudel were caught out in 19 and 13 runs respectively.
Kenya earned 130 runs losing 8 wickets from 20 overs. Kenyan wicketkeeper Ifran Karim scored 34 runs off 44 balls with 3 fours. Lucas Aluoch remained unbeaten on 31 runs off 13 balls with 5 fours and 1 six.
Nepal’s Sompal Kami took 3 wickets, Aadil Ansari and Dipendra Singh Aireee took 1 wicket each whereas Skipper Sandeep Lamichhane took 2 wickets. The second T20I match will be played on Friday.
