Kathmandu – Manang Marshayangdi Club recorded their second victory in an ongoing Martyr’s Memorial ‘A’ Division League beating New Road Team-NRT 3-1 at Dasarath Stadium on Wednesday.
Roshan Rana Magar, Sayidjamol Davlatjonov, and Koffi Timothee Koudo each scored a goal in Manang’s victory, while Ashok Thapa scored a consolation goal for NRT.
Roshan opened the scoring in the 38th minute following a cross from Randip Poudel. Randip tackled the ball just outside the box and sent it in for Roshan.
Earlier, NRT could have taken a lead in the 31st minute, but Manang’s goalkeeper, Deep Karki, made a perfect block of Rohan Khadgi’s attempt.
Manang, who went into the interval with a 1-0 lead, came back to add two more. In the 55th minute, Deep denied Dipesh Ale Magar in a one-on-one situation. Sayidjamol, who entered the game in the 67th minute, dominated the play. He was brought down in the box by NRT’s Gaurab Shrestha which earned a penalty for Manang. Sayidjamol then doubled his team’s lead by converting the spot kick.
Koffi, who was making his debut, extended Manang’s lead to 3-0 in the 88th minute. However, Ashok Thapa scored a header in the first minute of injury time to restrict MMC from keeping a clean sheet.
The win moved Manang Marshyangdi Club to third place in the points table with 8 points from four matches, while NRT remains second from the bottom with a single point.
