Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 at Anfield to open a three-point lead at the top of the Premier League table. Liverpool have 28 points, with Spurs now second on 25 points with 13 games played by both teams.
In the 26th minute, when Salah’s shot deflected off Spurs defender Toby Alderweireld. It looped into the far corner and took the lead. Mohamed Salah put Liverpool ahead, and although the home side dominated, it was the visitors who had the best chances after the break.
But seven minutes later, Tottenham struck back. Giovani Lo Celso breaking heavily before finding Son, who beat Alisson with a clever and composed finish. Spurs had two great opportunities to go ahead. Steven Bergwijn also burst into the box and holding off Trent Alexander-Arnold but his shot hit the post.
Moments later, Harry Kane found himself unmarked from a Son corner but made a mess of his header. In the 90th minute, Robertson swung a superb corner towards Firmino. He got in front of Alderweireld and thumped an emphatic header into the corner.
Spurs defended excellently but it wasn’t enough to hold firm against Liverpool.
