Kathmandu – Ruslan Three Star Club’s midfielder Dona Thapa scored a goal moments ahead of the final whistle of their last match of the Qatar Airways Martyrs Memorial A Division League on Friday to salvage a draw against already-relegated Brigade Boys Club.

Thapa scored in the last minute of injury time to spare the blushes of Three Star with a 1-1 draw. Prashant Tamang had earlier scored a goal to give BBC the lead during the match held at ANFA Complex, Satdobato. Both the goals were scored in the second half.

Tamang took advantage of confusion between Three Star captain Ashok Khawas and Rafael Rim regarding who should receive the ball released by goalkeeper Angel Shrestha. Tamang was quick to snatch the ball and score in a one-versus-one situation.

However, Thapa scored an injury-time goal with a one-touch in a pass from Ansumana Cromaha.

Three Star have 19 points from 13 matches in the league and are sixth in the standings. This is the first time in  Three Star’s history that the club finished outside the top four. BBC have 7 points from 13 matches and remain second from bottom.

In another match held at the Dashrath Stadium, Jawlakhel Youth Club and Sankata Club played a 1-1 draw in the league. Sunil Khadka was on target for JYC while Uttam Rai grabbed one for Sankata.

Sankata finished with 16 points from  13 matches while JYC managed to get 14 points from 13 matches.
