Head Coach of Bangladesh National Football Team Jamie Day has tested positive for Coronavirus. Day, who took charge of the team in the first of the two friendly series against Nepal on Friday was tested positive on Sunday.
Day underwent a regular test on Saturday as part of the corona safety protocol on the ongoing series and found out the test came positive a day after. Day is now staying separate from the squad in isolation facilities. He will miss the team’s second match scheduled for Tuesday.
The result of all other Bangladesh staff and players came out negative. The tests of Nepalese team players and officials also were negative. In the Nepalese team, the test of Ranjit Dhimal, the player who tested positive in the previous tests came out negative. Dhimal missed the previous match after he was tested positive on Tuesday.
Nepal will face Bangladesh in the second match on Tuesday after losing the first match 2-0 on Friday. Nepal will need to better the previous result if they are to win the series title. A draw will be enough for Bangladesh to keep the trophy home.
