Pokhara – Armed Police Force (APF) and Madesh Province register victory in the Women’s Cricket Tournament belonging to 9th National Games.

In a day’s first match, APF secured an empathic victory over home side Gandaki Province. APF, who batted second won the match playing 14 balls with 9 wickets in hand.
APF chased a winning target of 27 runs losing 1 wicket in 2.2 overs. Indu Barma and Sita Rana Magar remained unbeaten. Indu collected 9 runs off 3 balls with 2 fours whereas Sita added 12 runs off 5 balls with 2 fours. Opener Jyoti Pandey got dismissed for 2 runs off 6 balls. Gandaki’s skipper Shristi Jaishi took Jyoti’s wicket.
Gandaki, who won the toss and chosen to bat first was all out for 26 runs in 18.2 overs. Skipper Shristi scored five runs off 14 balls with 1 boundary. None of the Gandaki players could score more than five runs.
In a second match of the day, Madesh Province recorded a comfortable victory over Far Western Province by 15 runs. Far Western failed to chase a winning target of 92.
Far Western scored 76 runs losing 8 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. Ritu Kanojia, the most experienced player of Far Western, scored 27 runs off 38 balls with 2 fours. Rubi Poddar scored 12 runs in 37 balls. Other players did not perform well.
Madhesh’s Santoshi Chaudhary took 2 wickets spending 8 runs in 4 overs. Shanti Chaudhary took 2 wickets, Anuradha Choudhary took 2 wickets and Saraswati Chaudhary took one wicket.
Madhesh, who won the toss and started batting first, collected 91 runs losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. Sana Prabin scored 35 runs off 49 balls with 3 fours. Apart from Sana, others could not perform well.
Opener Anuradha Chaudhary was dismissed for zero. Goma Ale was dismissed for 10 runs off 26 balls. Saraswati Kumari, Santoshi Chaudhary, and Pushpa Phuyal were dismissed for one run each.
Captain Kabita Gautam remained unbeaten on 9 runs with 1 four off 10 balls. Rosy Kadari remained unbeaten on 4 runs with 1 four off 3 balls.
