Kathmandu – Anjan Bista netted in the final minutes as Nepal recorded a victory over Pakistan in an international friendly match played in front of the home crowd on Wednesday.
The unmarked 24-years old forward, in the 83rd minute of the match, tapped in the ball beating Pakistan’s defenders following Sunil Bal’s cross from the right flank. The decisive goal from Anjan led Nepal towards a victory over Pakistan who made a comeback to international football after facing a 3-year-long ban implemented by FIFA.
Nepal, who looked horrific throughout the first half, improved after the interval. The young prospect, Awas Lamichhane holding an experience in European football marked his debut to the National side replacing Sesehang Angdembe in the 56th minute.
A two fresh pair in midfield, Arik Bista, and Awas, who stepped in the 56th minute changed the momentum of the match. Sunil Bal then replaced Ayush Ghalan in the 72nd minute to assist Nepal with a win.
