The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has estimated that nearly 35 million rupees will be spent on the SAFF Women’s Championship, which will begin next week in Dashrath Rangashala at Kathmandu.
In the championship where all SARRC nations will participate, hosts Nepal is drawn in Group B along with Sri Lanka and Bhutan. Similarly, defending champions India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Maldives are drawn in Group A.
As per ANFA Spokesperson Suresh Shah, the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) is said to cover the food and lodging expenses of the participating teams and match officials. However, ANFA will bear the field-related costs, transportation, and other expenses. Moreover, SAFF has provided 250,000 USD to ANFA for the championship.
The previous edition of the SAFF Championship was held in Biratnagar where India defeated Nepal by 3-1 to clinch the title. Bhutan and Pakistan have already arrived in Kathmandu to participate in the championship. ANFA informed that India and Maldives would arrive on Saturday whereas Sri Lanka and Bangladesh on Sunday.
ANFA has previously signed MOU with Indian company 100 Sports Management Pvt Ltd as the ticketing, marketing, and broadcasting partner for 62 lakhs. NRs. 500 and NRs. 300 has been finalized as the ticket price for VIP and General parapet respectively.
Nepal will begin its SAFF Championship campaign by taking on Bhutan in the opener. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semifinals. The final is scheduled on 19th September. AP1 TV will broadcast the live stream of the championship.
