Swimmer Gaurika Singh, who won the most medals in the 13th South Asian Games (SAG) held in Nepal three years ago is one of the supreme seven athletes to be felicitated on HamroKhelkud’s anniversary.
HamroKhelkud.com is honoring the seven supreme athletes of all time on the occasion of its seventh anniversary. The players who have contributed significantly to Nepali sports during their time will be honored amidst an event to be held in Lalitpur on Thursday.
The first international medal winner for Nepal Jit Bahadur Kc, the South Asian Games (SAG) record holder runner Baikuntha Manandhar, the Gold Medalist of SAG both as a coach and a player Raju Kaji Shakya, the first player to succeed in the qualifiers and played in the Olympics Sangina Baidhya, Deepak Bista who has won the most medals in individual events in an international arena and star cricketer Paras Khadka are amongst to be honored have been revealed earlier.
Gaurika bagged 9 medals including 4 gold medals in the 13th SAG. She became the first Nepali athlete to win gold in the individual event in SAG swimming. She participated in the 2016 Rio Olympics when she was 13 years old. She was the youngest athlete to participate in the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Seven players including Singh will be honored on the anniversary of HamroKhelkud on 4th August 2022 (19th Shrawan, 2079). HamroKhelkud came into operation from Shrawan 19, 2072. Moreover, this is the first time that HamroKhelkud is celebrating its anniversary publicly. HamroKhelkud has been publishing news, articles, photos, videos, and other materials related to national and international sports since its inception.
Similarly, HamroKhelkud has been live telecasting various national and international competitions through its Facebook page and Youtube channel intending to bring domestic competitions to the Nepali audience. In 2019, HamroKhelkud broadcasted live of the AVC Central Zone Men’s Volleyball Championship held in Nepal which was the first International Competition they broadcasted live.
As a news portal that is directly related to Nepali sports, HamroKhelkud is going to honor seven athletes of all time who have contributed to taking Nepali sports to a certain height on the occasion of its seventh anniversary. National and international players, coaches, sports officials, sports journalists, and others will participate in the program at Ashok Party Palace in Patan. The event will be broadcast live on its Facebook page and YouTube channel.
