Suspended Captain of Nepal National Cricket Team Sandeep Lamichhane, who faced the allegation of rape of a minor released a statement on Saturday stating that he will reach Nepal the day after Tika i.e. 6th October 2022.
Sandeep confirmed the date of his arrival through his social media handle. Sandeep, who has been time and again claiming that he is innocent and all the allegations against him are baseless through his social media handle, was out of contact for a time being.
On 27th September 2022, Interpol circulated a diffusion notice among its member states, requesting them to nab rape-accused Sandeep.
According to the initial investigation, It has been found that Sandeep took the 17-year-old girl to various places in Kathmandu and Bhaktapur on 21st August and repeatedly molested the girl at 12:25 AM in room number 305 of a hotel located in Kathmandu District Metropolitan City 9.
The CC Tv footage showed that Sandeep checked in to the hotel at 11:55 PM. The complaint was filed to the Police Circle Gaushala on 6th September and the Nepa Police issued an arrest warrant against him on 8th September.
