Pubudu announced as Canada’s coach instantly after he resigned from Nepal

The Canadian National Cricket Team has announced the appointment of Pubudu Dassanayake as the head coach within a few hours after he announced his resignation as the head coach of the Nepali National Cricket Team.

Cricket Canada has announced the appointment of Dassanayake as the head coach through its social media. Dassanayake announced his resignation as Nepal’s head coach amidst a press conference this afternoon. During the announcement, he said that he is quitting due to personal reasons which he didn’t wish to elaborate.

In the press conference, when he was asked whether he would take another responsibility or not, his answer was, “Even when I resigned, I informed CAN. I will now return to Canada. As of now there is no possibility to go out of the home and work. However, if I had to work, I will stay in Canada and will work with local cricket in Canada from home. I know that my name has been linked to the American League team, but that is not possible at the moment.
