Kathmandu – Underdogs Nepal defeated Uzbekistan in the AVC Asian Central Zone Women’s and Men’s Volleyball Championship in Bangladesh on Friday to register their first win.
Nepal bounced back from a first set defeat to beat Uzbekistan in 3-1 sets in course of registering their first victory in the championship underway in Bangladesh.
Nepal had lost the first set 18-25 but bounced back to win the second set 25-21 and third set 25-18 with ease. The last set was a tough fight in which Nepal prevailed over Uzbekistan with a score of 25-23.
Earlier, Nepal had lost their opening match against hosts Bangladesh in straight sets. Hosts Bangladesh, the Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Uzbekistan are competing in the men’s section of the championship.
