The teams to compete in the SAFF U17 Championship to be held in Sri Lanka next month have been grouped. Favorite rivals Nepal and India have been placed in the same group amidst a program on Saturday.
As per the group division announced by the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF), Nepal is placed in group ‘B’ alongside India and Bhutan.
Similarly, hosts Sri Lanka, Maldives and Bangladesh are placed in group ‘A’. The championship will take place in Sri Lanka from 5th to 14th of September.
The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) is selecting players at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato from last Tuesday through open trial to form a U17 team in order to compete in the championship.
ANFA has given the responsibility of Head coach to Urjan Shrestha who is also a coach of A division side Three Star Club.
